These seals fit VGT actuator for 2007 – 2019+ Dodge Ram with 6.7 Cummins.  2007 – 2012 has HE351VE turbo charger and 2013-2019  has an HE300VG turbo each use different VGT actuators but they use the same seals. We include these seals in our turbo rebuild kits which are different for the HE351VE and HE300VG. These seals should be replaced any time the actuator is removed, it’s common to remove the actuator during recalibration.  Make sure the coolant is drained first before removing the actuator because the coolant can ruin the electronics of the actuator if spilled on the actuator.

At Turbo Lab we can Machine your HX35, H1C, or HX40 Turbine Housing to a larger Turbine Wheel. The Factory HX35 Turbine Wheel is 60mm x 70mm, and the Turbine Housing can be Machined to the HX40 64mm x 76mm and the HX40 67 mm x 76mm Turbine Wheel. Machining Your Turbine Housing for the Larger Turbine Wheel, will Help Lower EGTs, and Drive Pressure Significantly.

You Should Upgrade Your Turbine Wheel or Turbine Housing Size If you have Already Machined Your compressor Housing for an Hx40 60 x 86 Compressor Wheel or Larger. You need to use a Turbine Wheel in Sink with the Compressor Wheels Flow or close. The closer and Flow Rates the Compressor and Turbine Wheel are to each other the more Efficient your Turbo will be and the Faster It will Spool. If you use a 67 x 89 x 95 Billet Compressor Wheel then you Should use a 67mm x 76mm Turbine Wheel. If You use a 64mm x 76mm Turbine, You can Compensate by using a Larger Turbine Housing.

Are BMW N54 535i, 335i, and 135i Turbos the Same? Here is the Difference In the BMW N54 135i, 335i, and 535i Turbos.

The Difference is that the Rear Turbo of the 535i has a Different Wastegate Actuator and Compressor Housing Which i was told is Designed to Clear the Firewall. The X6 Also Has a Difference, the Difference in the X6 N54 Turbos Is that the compressor housing and Wastegate is like the 535i, but the Compressor Housings have Plastic Inlets in Both Compressor Housings, Which Make it Difficult to Upgrade.

How Much Oil Pressure To Run to Your Turbo

Learn How Much OIl Pressure Your Turbo Should See. The Most Common Problem with Turbochargers Blowing oil is the Oil Drain Being Too Small. The Normal Factory Size OIl Drain is 14mm – 20mm. When Making an Oil Drain for a Turbocharger, it is Important to have as Large of and Oil Drain Possible and never use a Restrictor in a Journal Bearing Turbocharger.

It is very Common for a Turbo to Leak oil out the Seals if the oil Drain is 12mm or Smaller. Try and Use a 16mm Inside Diameter OIl Drain Fitting and a 5/8″ Hose.

Often a Turbo can Leak oil if the OIl drain has the Following Problems:

  • Oil Drain Diameter Too Small
  • Oil Drain Angle too Sharp Making it Difficult for the OIl to Drain Properly
  • Oil Drain Clogged
  • Turbo Center Cartridge Angle too Steep. (Do Not Angle More than 15 Degrees in Either Direction)
  • Oil Level Too High Inside of the Turbo (If the OIl level is too High Inside the Turbo, the Oil can Leak out if the Oil Level is Simply Sitting too High in the Cartridge
  • If Oil Weight is Thinner than 10w 30, the Oil can Leak Out of the Turbo Seals Even When The Seals are Still Good.  Too Thin of Oil Weight Will Cause the Turbo to Wear Out Much Sooner, Use 10w 30 or Heavier Weight.

Is the Billet Compressor Wheel vs the Cast Compressor Wheel Worth It.  The Billet Compressor Wheel is Usually Over 100 Dollars More than the Cast Compressor wheel, Which Leads You to the Question, is the Billet Compressor Wheel Worth It or is Your Money Best Spent Somewhere Else? I Made This Video To Help You Make an Educated Decision.

Some Billet Compressor Wheels Weigh Less than the Cast compressor Wheels and Some Billet Wheels Weigh More than the Cast Compressor Wheels. I Would not Make a Decision Based on the Weight Alone. I Would Chose Based on Usable Surface Area that the Blades Can Use the Capture More Air.  In this Video I also Demonstrate an Example of a Billet Compressor Wheel that I Didnt Think Was Worth It. The Main Advantage Of Billet Compressor Wheels vs Cast is:

  1. Lighter Weight (some cases it is heavier)
  2. More Room for Air Flow
  3. More Durability (Cast Wheels can Have Air Pockets Creating Weak Spots, But Billet Wheels are machined for Solid aluminum)
